Guest network ...

Great feature, but can't get it to work despite a lot of manual reading and forum searching. Here is my setup:

Airport Extreme is connected to Ethernet network, assigned a static IP address and using DHCP to distribute IP addresses to laptops connecting to the Ethernet network through it.

If I choose the option under the Internet tab/Connection Sharing to "Distribute a range of IP Addresses" everything works great as far as the laptops accessing the network and Internet, but the Guest Network tab and option disappear.

If I choose "Share a public IP address", the Guest Network tab and option becomes available, but I get an error message that DHCP range conflicts with the WAN IP address. The only fix I can figure out is to change the DHCP range to a different subnet. But then the laptops can only access the Internet, not the Ethernet network.

I hope to end up with 1 Airport Extreme distributing IP addresses to our laptops that enable them to be on our network and distributing IP addresses of a different subnet to the Guest network laptops enabling them to access only the Internet. Then when working as described, having other Airport Extremes being in Bridge Mode to distribute this setup seamlessly throughout our campus.

Am I wishing for too much or just missing something?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Kyle
