I'm trying to hook my iMac (G5, 10.4) up to my Airport Extreme (ethernet) with the mac having a static IP address and ports forwarded to it. I have other computers (my work laptop) connected via ethernet or sometimes wireless and other wireless computers, or my Tivo box, where I would prefer the IP to be assigned by the Extreme.
I see tutorials out there but they are with really old Airport Utility/Admin versions and don't really match up with what I see with the latest Utility versions.
I'm wondering if someone could post a set of instructions to make this work? I'd love to know what the settings are on the Airport Extreme (Airport Utility) as well as the iMac's network settings, and if I need to do anything special to the others that I want to get their IP addresses dynamically.
Not that I think it makes a difference, but the Extreme is also extended by an Airport Express.
I'm probably going to reset the Extreme and Express (been messing around trying to do this and they're a little messed up now) so you can assume I'm starting from scratch.
I'm not really smart about all the network settings, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!
